Arai XD-5 Helmet - Discovery
Description
Description
The XD-5 is a completely redesigned adventure helmet packed with new features. As with everything from Arai, every improvement is made with protection as the priority — bringing the ideal Arai shape for impact management ever closer to reality. Available in Discovery graphic colorways: Blue, Black Frost, and Orange.
XD-5 Peak
The all-new peak is designed for more effective ventilation, increased high-speed flow-through performance, greater range of adjustability for blocking the sun, and is more resistant to buffeting — all of which leads to an overall more comfortable riding experience.
Three Distinct Configurations
The XD-5 offers three distinct configurations depending on rider preference or riding conditions. Use just the shield for street riding, just the peak with goggles for off-road, or combine shield and peak for a truly multi-functional ADV setup.
All-New Shell and VAS-A Shield System
The new VAS-A Max Vision system allows for easier, faster, tool-free shield swaps. The peak uses a single screw per side for removal. The round, smooth shell is designed to glance off impact energy and direct it away from the interior in a crash.
Chin Vent
The mouth-shutter opening is double the size of the XD-4. The larger aperture flows more fresh air without requiring mesh vents as seen on predecessors.
Inner Shutter
Working in conjunction with the mouth shutter, the inner shutter lets you control airflow direction. Both open: air directed toward your mouth. Outer open, inner closed: air directed toward the shield to reduce fogging.
Front Logo Vent
Airflow is unaffected by changes in riding position. Shell advances allow forehead vent holes without compromising protection.
AR Spoiler
Positioned for adventure riding, the AR spoiler reduces turbulent air fatigue on long rides and draws hot air out of the crown area.
VAS-A Max Vision Shield & Pinlock
Wide field of view with Pinlock-ready construction effective against fogging across the entire field of view, even in extreme conditions. One Pinlock insert included in the box.
Odor-Resistant Interior
Interior liner has the same acidity as bare skin with odor-resistant and stain-resistant properties. Removable micro-fit foam layers (5mm per temple, 5mm rear) for precise fit adjustability. Note: micro-fit pads cannot be replaced once removed.
Air Flap
Retractable pull-down spoiler reduces wind intrusion and vents exhaled heat from cheek pad edges. Works with the chin vent to reduce shield fogging. Optional ES Chin Cover compatible (not included).
Communications Device Capability
The Hyper-Ridge® is re-sculpted with flat side surfaces for secure mounting of a wide range of comm devices, increasing bonding surface and reducing buffeting or slip-offs.
Speaker Pocket
Hook-and-loop speaker installation without removing cheek pad covers. Deep, wide ear pockets accommodate thick speakers with room to position for comfort.
Neck Roll Wire Pocket
Built-in pocket, wiring connectors storage, and side-to-side routing holes keep cables managed and secure when putting on or removing the helmet.
