Find Your Flare®

Every rider is unique. Whether you ride a Harley-Davidson®, Indian®, Honda®, or BMW®, your bike is an extension of your personality and riding style. That’s why we believe in options, not one-size-fits-all solutions.

At Klock Werks, we’ve dedicated ourselves to helping riders find the right Flare® Windshield with expert guidance, real-world testing opportunities, and a wide variety of fitment choices. With the right windshield in place, you can focus on what matters most: the comfortable, controlled, and rad ride ahead.

Why Choose a Klock Werks Flare® Windshield

You might be wondering, "what makes a Flare® different"?

A Flare® Windshield isn’t just another accessory. It’s a performance upgrade designed to improve your ride without draining your wallet. As our founder Brian Klock puts it, "Choosing Klock Werks is about making the most out of your bike with top-quality parts without breaking the bank."

The patented Flare® design features a unique “flip” at the top and “hips” on the sides, which redirect air up and around the rider while simultaneously creating downforce. The result? Reduced turbulence, less rider fatigue, and improved bike stability, especially at highway speeds or in windy conditions.

Compared to stock windshields or aftermarket flat screens, the Flare® delivers unmatched performance with sleek styling, multiple tint and kolor options, and a variety of heights to suit riders of all sizes and setups.

One Size Does Not Fit All

Klock Werks developed a range of windshield heights because no two riders, or riding positions,  are the same. Height matters. A Flare® that’s too tall or too short won’t perform the way it should.

The right height is key to optimal air management and your overall riding experience. When the shield height is dialed in, it puts your head and shoulders right in the “sweet spot” of the managed airflow. That’s what gives you less fatigue, more comfort, and a smoother ride.

“The ability to see over the windshield not only gives you the clearest view of what’s ahead of you, but it also puts your head and shoulders in the sweet-spot of the air managed by the windshield,”
– Klock Werks Engineering

How do you find the right height?

We suggest choosing a windshield you can look over, not through. Once you identify your line of sight, you can make an educated decision using the vertical height listed for each Flare®.

How to Measure for the Right Flare® Height

  1. Sit on your motorcycle in your normal riding posture. If you tend to slouch while riding, include that in your position.

  2. Have a helper hold a ruler or tape measure vertically from the center of your fairing or stock windshield.

  3. Determine the measurement where your line of sight hits. Then, choose a Flare® with a vertical height less than that measurement.

Psst... Use this step-by-step guide as an extra reminder while you're measuring.

If you ride two-up frequently, keep your passenger’s comfort in mind. A taller shield like the Pro-Touring Flare® may be a better fit for added coverage.

Please note: While this method is about 95% accurate, it’s not a substitute for real-world riding experience. Air management is dynamic, and nothing beats getting out on the road and testing for yourself.

Choosing Based on Your Riding Style and Bike Model

The model you ride and how you ride it also play a role in selecting the best Flare®.

If you ride solo most of the time, prefer aggressive styling, or frequently tackle back roads and twisties, a shorter Flare® might be ideal. On the other hand, if you often ride long distances, travel with a passenger, or want maximum wind deflection, a taller Flare® offers the extra comfort and control you need.

We carry a vast range of Flare® Windshields for different makes and models. To be sure you have the correct windshield for your ride, shop by ride by using our make model filter or verify fitment in the “Fitment + Installation” tab of the product page.

For Harley-Davidson® FLTR Models (Road Glide®)

We offer two key styles to help Road Glide® riders fine-tune their ride:

Sport Flare®

More streamlined, with radical curves and a sportier stance. This aggressive profile complements the lines of newer fairings and still improves air management and stability. Perfect for solo riders or those who want to turn heads while staying comfortable.

Pro-Touring Flare®

A wider option with full-body coverage. Offers greater wind deflection for both rider and passenger, especially suited for long hauls. It brings all the performance of a Flare®, with more coverage and comfort.

These designations help you easily identify the best Flare® for your setup and riding goals.

Make It Yours: Tint and Kolor Options

Once you've landed on the right size, it’s time to style your Flare® your way.

Tint Options

  • Clear or Tinted: Best for visibility during night riding or low-light conditions.

  • Dark Smoke: Adds a sleek, aggressive look and reduces glare in bright daylight.

(Note: Solid black windshields are made from more durable polycarbonate.)
